About Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport (Flughafen Zürich AG – FZAG) at Kloten is the owner operator of Zurich International Airport, Switzerland’s most significant transport and meeting hub. Zurich Airport employs more than 1500 members of staff and works with 24,000 employees from over 270 airport partners. In 2011, the airport handled 24.3 million passengers, 415,000 tons of cargo and approximately 270,000 flights.

Business Issues

Zurich Airport needed an Engineering Information Management (EIM) solution that supported the archiving of architectural drawings, offered easy, fast and efficient data capturing, overall information transparency and easy drawing discovery, access for external drawing viewers and –creators (270 partner companies) and AutoCad integration.

How Zurich Airport uses BlueCielo solutions

Mensch und Maschine implemented BlueCielo Meridian, a feature-rich EIM solution, for Zurich Airport to achieve the following benefits:

  • Unified document storage
  • Consistent data
  • Controlled and secure access
  • Automated generation of PDF-formats
  • Deep integration between BlueCielo Meridian and surrounding systems

What Zurich Airport says

“The new application fully meets the desired functionality. For facility management at an airport, a system like BlueCielo Meridian is essential because it is multi-functional and has virtually no limitations.”
– Senior Project Manager ICT/SAP & FM competence center at Zurich Airport

“We are very satisfied with our selection of BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise. It has lived up to our expectations by making centralized access and revision control of our drawings a reality.”
