BlueCielo is pleased to present a preview of some of the new capabilities, changes and additions included in the 2017 product release which support the current market trends.

Today’s asset-intensive companies expect greater access to a wide variety of information. Many of our customers may have a cloud first policy and our software developments are fully geared to support this trend. Meridian 2017, the release expected in January, facilitates all those customer demands. Meridian 2017 is enabled for the cloud, supports central deployments and allows decentralized architectures to optimize engineering performance. Meridian 2017 is the next step for BlueCielo to support the highest demands in Engineering Information Management for owner operators.

BlueCielo Meridian 2017 provides the following key capabilities:

  • Web access for all stakeholders
    The Meridian 2017 release finalizes the migration to full web access of all Power user functionalities. The new release will provide even more Engineering Information management capabilities, than the traditional Windows client. The web access capabilities will be completed with a new upload / download manager for smoother application integration, that eliminates the need of a browser plug-in. Optionally the user can work with a zero install HTML5-based PDF viewer.
  • Enhanced architecture for central deployments
    When deploying the Meridian environment from a central data center using the web access client, the users still require quick access and high responsiveness for working with their CAD models. The Meridian architecture and technologies have been optimized to work with large CAD assemblies online.
  • CAD application integration
    The new release of Meridian will support the latest version of major CAD applications, such as AutoCAD 2017 SP1, SolidWorks 2017 and MicroStation V8i. The 2017 release will also provide new capabilities, for example improved support for concurrent engineering with Revit.
  • Engineering collaboration in the cloud
    In Meridian 2017 we have enhanced the integration of the on-premises installation with the cloud- based engineering collaboration environment Meridian360 Portal. Moreover, we added new options to easily control information exchange with external contractors and suppliers.

In addition to those key enhancements, many other smaller changes have been made to enhance productivity and reduce cost of ownership.
